iGoogle do you?

I love Google for so many reasons but by far, my favorite tool is iGoogle (www.google.com/ig).  iGoogle stands for interactive Google and it is basically a personalized home page that is customizable with gadgets and web feeds.  A personal Google homepage that allows you to arrange and classify all of your RSS feeds, news headlines, weather forecasts and more.  Set up as your default page, iGoogle allows you to review your top interests and get up-to-date information on the information that matters most to you.

I have set up iGoogle as my default home page on my internet browser and I love it!  My home page has the gadget, widgets and feeds that I use every day.   It really keeps me up to date on the world.  My tabs, such as my “Learn” tab contains feeds on information that can benefit me and my personal business…or my clients.  

There is a myriad of gadgets and feeds that you can add and you’ll spend the better part of a day going through all the gadgets, widgets and feeds available.  Additionally you can create your own gadgets for your workspace.  Use them for yourself or share with others.  Make them public or keep them private.  IREAA has designed a gadget for members to use to keep you up to date on the latest training, teleclasses and industry news to keep you in the know!  You can visit www.ireaa.com/ireaagadget.htm to get the link – but let’s continue with the iGoogle features.

Gadgets:
My iGoogle page is set up with the Bookmarks (my most often viewed sites), CNN gadget (for current news around the globe) and local weather in my town.  On my home page I’ve also added the Vocabulary grapher thesaurus, and a few other random gadgets that I like.

Tabs:
In addition to the home page, I have 3 other tabs: games, fun, and learn.  This allows me to download other gadgets that I may not necessarily want on my home page.

Themes:
Why use the generic theme when you can choose from others?  My iGoogle theme reflects the time of days (morning, afternoon, evening) and changes colors accordingly  There are roughtly 70 themes available or you can create your own!

Take iGoogle for a spin, make it your default page for your browser and in a week you’ll be asking yourself how you ever lived without it!
